Les Buveurs de Vent (Drinkers of the Wind) was started in 1996 with the acquisition of two superb mares, Anaroufa (*Ibn Moniet El Nefous x Bint Bint Aaroufa) and *EH Ahkrana (Al Nowasy GASB x Gasoorah GASB) with the idea of producing quality Arabian horses, primarily of Straight Egyptian and Al Khamsa lines. Our bloodlines included renowned exotic horses such as: Ibn Moniet el Nefous, Morafic, Serr Maariner, Nabiel, Serenity Luftia, El Halimaar, Shaikh el Badi, Dalul, Ibn Safinaz, RDM Maar Hala, Bint Aaroufa, Alaa El Din, Bint Moniet El Nefous, to name a few, in their pedigree close up! We don't have any Minstril, Desperado lines.
All our Arabians are also within the Al Khamsa group. This means that all the lines in their pedigree can be traced to the original Bedouin horses of the desert. An Arabian that comes from Les Buveurs de Vent Stables is the real desert horse with that tent sharing instinct; hot blooded but sweet and without a mean temperament, and for us, the most wonderful horse in the world!
Les Buveurs de Vent is in Abitibi, Quebec, in Canada, near the east side of the Ontario border about an hour from the Transcanadian (11). On a domain of 235 acres, the stable has been entirely rebuilt into a modern stable with box stalls, shower, saddlery, etc. and many other amenities still to come. We are producing our own "organic" hay and oat!
We have enjoyed raising our children in the company of these equine matrons. They have learned love and respect for these beautiful horses since they were very young!
